Stupid Blogger. I just lost the latest post I made, so I will try to recreate it. Blogger is such a piece of crap.
So, as I was saying, it’s important to remember that video cameras can be used for evil as well as for good.
That being said, let’s move on.
Jonathan is getting married on Saturday. One of the many side effects of this process is that my apartment is clean from top to bottom for the first time since I moved in. For those who may not believe this, I offer the following photographic evidence:

Jonathan is getting a bit nervous, though he refuses to admit it. Although, when stuff like a backhoe running into the side of the church where his wedding is to be held happens, you kind of expect some sort of nervousness.

Chloe’s new favorite place to hang out is on the lower counter between the kitchen and dining room. I think she picked it because she can get a view of both Jonathan & I working from one location. Anyway, here are some oh-so-adorable pictures of her on the counter.

Of course, the moment the laser printer, which also happens to live on the lower counter, begins to print, she freaks out. Which is actually quite cute.
Anyway, not having a very good day today. I think I might go take a forced nap in a bit. That usually helps me improve my state of mind.

Okay, so I’ve been playing with iRate all weekend, and I even fixed some of their bugs! Here are some bands that I had never previously heard of that I really enjoyed.
MANIA
Evolution
Molasses
Mechanical Poet
Maestro Alex Gregory
Dan Marc
I am so jazzed about this program. How cool is it to easily find so many awesome bands. The software is still a little rough, but I’m working on helping with that, too! You have to check it out if you haven’t already.

Okay, this is really cool. iRate is a really cool, legal MP3 tool. Basically it has a database of thousands of MP3 files offered by bands legally on their websites, etc. When you start it up for the first time, it randomly downloads 7 songs. As they play, you rate them. It then compares your musical tastes to everyone else who uses iRate, and then begins to download files that other people with your musical tastes enjoyed. It is a tremendous way to discover lots of new bands & music legally. And it allows you to bypass the RIAA, which should be every true American’s goal. The RIAA is doing almost as much to steal your freedom as the “Patriot” Act does.
Anyway, Ethan is creating a PSA for a non-profit in New Orleans. I saw his rough cut, and it looks awesome. It’s going to run as a pre-movie ad in a bunch of New Orleans movie theaters. He is getting SO good at the video thing.

Some of you have wondered about Chloe (my kitten), since I don’t talk about her much, and I haven’t put any new pictures online in a while. Well, she is still doing wonderfully. She is as cute as ever, and is wicked smart. She reminds me SO much of my brother Ian’s cat, Lexi. Anyway, here are some new pictures. Enjoy!

Would someone please tell me why anyone would need a $2,300 barbeque grill? Although, thanks to my spiffy Gold Box??? discount, it would only cost me $1,954. What a bargain!
This is especially ironic since my cooking hero states (accurately) that a much less expensive kettle grill actually produces a better cooking result. Just use natural charcoal instead of compressed charcoal briquettes.

Google AdSense is the one of the coolest things I have ever seen online. It allows small & midsized web publishers to host Google AdWords ads on their site, and receive a percentage of the revenue. I set it up on the RainbowKids Waiting Children section, and so far it has been going great! I am reluctant to put it on the other areas of the site until I’ve had a chance to talk to Marti, though.
Anyway, you should check them out if you have a niche site… apparently they work best with Google’s targeted advertising.

My brother is so cool. As previously noted, he got a new video camera that is absolutely amazing. And having been able to take a look at some of the stuff he has created with it, I am convinced that he is going to make it really big in the video production industry.
My other brother is also doing well. He is working as a lab manager at an environmental lab in Norcross, GA. I haven’t had much time to talk to him, but I am proud of him.
Despite my failures and shortcomings, it’s good to know that my brothers are succeeding in life. They are so talented, they deserve all of the success they are receiving. Two out of three ain’t bad…
Go Ian & Ethan!

I miss having a passion…
One thing I’ve realized in the last year or so is that I no longer have a passion for anything. Throughout my life, I have always been passionate about something (right or wrong). For example, in High School, I was a passionate Republican. Later, I was passionate about being able to go to Emmanuel College. After that, I was passionate about computer programming and technology, creating & helping with several different sites.
But now, nothing. There is nothing that drives me, nothing that motivates me. Each day is simply a prelude to the next, nothing more, nothing less.
Where did it go? How do I get it back?
I miss being a passionate person.

Interesting… AltoWeb, one of the last non-Oracle/BEA/IBM competitors to RedCelsius (my defunct former employer) went out of business. This means that only RealMethods is left in that J2EE framework space.
Oh well… life goes on. You can still see some of my (and the rest of the RedCelsius team’s) handiwork still in production at the GM Buypower website, although it appears that they have changed the front-end to a struts-based framework.
As time goes on, it appears that any signs of RedCelsius seem to be disappearing off the web. This news.com article speaks of happier times, though.
