One of the things I hate about vacation is that I don’t have my ReplayTV, so I am forced to watch commercials. And I just saw what had to be the most strange commercial in history.
Apparently TOTO (who bills themselves as the “worlds largest toilet maker”) is attempting to introduce the American audience to the wonders of Bedet technology in the form of the Washlet, which they bill as “the bathroom appliance that turns your bathroom into an oasis of serenity and comfort.” Which, in itself, is quite odd. But the commercial is horrible.
At one point, an older couple is talking about how much their children (and grandchildren!) enjoy using the washlet when they come to visit.
They’ll probably make a fortune… Only in America.
Oh I hate the smell of tapioca.
You know, no matter how many times I watch that movie, it still cracks me up.
I want to adopt a kitten Jenn is taking care of.

Rob is taking the idea as best as can be expected. Apparently I am not cleaning the litter box often enough. What fun.
So, right after I move from Georgia to California, they have an earthquake in Georgia. Now, I’m on vacation in New Orleans, and they have an earthquake in California.
At least my luck is better with tropical disturbances. I have been in both tropical storms to hit Pensacola in the last 2 years. ![]()
Just as I was saying how cool California was…
I had a job interview here in New Orleans on Friday at the company my brother Ethan works at, and it went well. In fact, they offered me a job right after my whole interview process.
But I am reluctant. I want to make a difference, but feel like the biggest obstacle I face is not lack of money, but lack of time. If I take the job, then I still have the problem of not enough time. I’d have lots more money, but still facing the same issue.
So do I do the safe thing, or do I do the risky thing? I hate decisions.
Greetings from Phoenix, AZ! Thanks to the creative routing of Southwest Airlines, I go from here to Houston, and then on to New Orleans. Which makes it non-stop travelling from 7am to 9:55 PST!
As I rode the bus through San Jose, it was really an interesting museum of the bust & boom that happened. I rode by the headquarters of some of the top names in high-tech (Sun, Western Digital, Maxtor, Network Associates, and eBay), and then there some of the biggest failures (Dialpad, XO Communications, and Cable & Wireless)
There is a part of me that wishes I hadn’t missed the boom, but there is another part of me that is happy to experience northern California post-boom.
Either way, it’s neat to be here.
So, I’m on an Amtrak bus. Really. Apparently the train from Merced doesn’t go to San Jose, only to Stockton. So that means that I get to ride the rails in a charter bus for the next two hours.
But this post really is just an excuse to show off my cell phone internet. ![]()
Okay, for those who keep asking if I still have a kitten… here’s proof. ![]()

As for more photos, I am going to bring my camera to church tonight to take some pictures for a christmas photocollage I want to make.
Man my brother is so talented.
For those who have not seen the “Kaiser”, take a look at his site. He’s placed a variety of his previous TV Time at Real Ethan! online.
And the best I can do is a cheesy Christmas RK logo…
