I am one of the world’s greatest movie addicts. So what did I watch tonight? Iron Chef: America and Law & Order: SVU.

Sorry, but I cannot handle the worthless drivel that is the Oscars. It is the Hollywood equal to awarding onself the title of “World’s Greatest Lover”.

I’ll pass, thanks.

A blog is a species of interactive electronic diary by means of which the unpublishable, untrammeled by editors or the rules of grammar, can communicate their thoughts via the web.

My, aren’t we bitter. My blog is about me, but occasionally I’ll link to or discuss something occurring in the day’s news world. This is the power of the blog. The 40 or 50 people who read my blog will encounter a news story that is unique to them. As a result, the intelligence and awareness of what is happening in the world is expanded.

Am I a journalist because of my blog? Certainly not. But people would not continuously visit my blog if I didn’t have something to offer.

Bloggers make an impact because they have passion and they are not afraid of the status quo. I can guarantee the ALA or the major news services don’t approach news the same way.

I appreciate that. I would rather have it this way.

Ugh… a funtastic day of going into Oakland to do unscheduled server maintenance, but at least we got a lot accomplished.

I hate hardware maintenance… having to drive into the Bay to replace a bum network card isn’t my idea of a good time. If only we had been able to stop at the indescribably yuppy Stoneridge Mall Apple Store… though last time we stopped there they were out of stock of EVERYTHING… no iPod Shuffle, no Mac mini, heck, they didn’t even have any of the high end iMac G5s…

I’d curse Apple for their supply chain issues, but they’re running SAP, so what can you do? :-)

T-Mobile: Get More

I don’t even know 500 people, let alone have their data in my cell phone… but to be honest, I don’t imagine these are best friends we’re talking about.

Wondering which next generation MMORPG is winning the battle? You have two choices:

1) World of Warcraft, which has sold out in stores across the country
2) Everquest 2, which you can download & play as a “free trial” until June 1, 2006

Although I will admit that I am downloading said free trial right now, so we’ll see how it really is.

One of my best friends recently wrote that she is “bored” with blogging. I understand that… I myself am “tired”.

  • Tired of being enveloped in a plague of loneliness while all of my friends are getting engaged, married, or having children
  • Tired of being taken for granted by everyone around me
  • Tired of being taken advantage of by people who only want to spend time with me when they need something
  • Tired of every day being exactly like the one before it
  • Tired of a job that doesn’t ever seem to go anywhere
  • Tired of being poor
  • Tired of simply going through the day with the primary goal of getting through the day

I’m just plain tired…

I was reading about how Google gave a majority of their campaign contributions to the Democratic party, and I ran across this screen.

I don’t know about you, but they could be at least a bit more subtle about buying & selling Democrats…

Okay, okay… so my super-cool, well connected friend informed me that she DID in fact respond to my Mac mini request, and that my IM client died immediately afterwards, apparently it was unable to continue after receiving such bad news.

So, I’m sorry that I implied that there was no response. My communications with said ?ber cool friend are fine, and it’s my technology that caused the issue.
