My Latest Obsession

Here is my current C-One Setup

Here is my current C-One Setup

Right now I am trying to figure out how to write emulator disk images to real disks that I can use on the C-One. This is not easy.

Anyway, once I get it all up and working, I’ll post more pics and even some videos.

EDIT: For those who asked about the above image, the main C-One board is mounted in the ATX case in the background behind the monitor. The laptop is an ancient Thinkpad running Windows 2000 that is hooked up to the first 1581 drive via an XM1541 cable. The other 1581 is hooked up to the C-One. There is a big stack of DS/DD 3.5″ floppy discs on the left hand side in front of the monitor. The monitor is the first Samsung LCD I ever purchased back in 2000(!). The “I Voted” sticker was placed November 4, 2008. I voted for Barack Obama. You probably read about it. The two center optical discs are a bunch of old Commodore disc images I burned and was trying(?) to install.

Dream Accomplished

October 13th, 2008

Although most people have more intricate dreams, I have accomplished one that I have had since I was a punk-ass kid back in the early 90’s.

As of tonight, I now own at least one unit of every single 8-bit or 16-bit computer the defunct Commodore Computer Company has ever produced. This includes the following CBM models: Commodore PET, Commodore VIC-20, Commodore 64, Commodore 128, Commodore 128-D.

But that’s not all. I also have a Commodore Amiga 1000, Amiga 500, Amiga 2000, Amiga 2000HD, Amiga 200HD Video Toaster, Amiga 1200, and Amiga 3000.

Let’s not forget the Commodore CD-32 Console, which completely sucks.

Finally, the Amiga 4000 sits alone without any display, printer, or other hardware to interface with it. If you can help, let me know.

And I know what Penn & Teller have said, but the truth is that my past defines me. If they are better than me in that way, go them. But I still appreciate my old dialup BBS chances.
